The EmRescue FFD is a specialized compression bandage designed for quick deployment by soldiers in the event of a severe injury where halting blood loss is of utmost importance.

Its distinctive design allows it to be self-applied by an injured soldier using just one hand. The FFD generates adequate pressure to halt bleeding and can maintain that pressure on the wound until the injured soldier receives comprehensive medical care.

EmRescue First Field Dressing (As per DGQA specification no. Prov/S/4665/TC-1(a)

    • It includes a medical-grade pressure sensitive adhesive at the beginning of the dressing, facilitating single-handed bandage application.
    • The wound pad is constructed with non-leachable silver, which is bactericidal, thus prevents bacterial growth but also actively eliminates bacteria, reducing the risk of wound infection.
    • The wound pad is comprised of a super-ab-sorbent material capable of absorbing fluid up to nearly 50 times its weight.
    • To prevent accidental unfolding, holding knots are incorporated between the layers of the bandage.
    • This ensures that the bandage remains securely in place even if dropped on the ground.
    • A specially designed ridge is incorporated into the FFD, which applies pressure to the bleeding point.
    • Due to its high elasticity, the FFD can accommodate post-injury swelling, ensuring a comfortable fit.
    • It includes a hook and loop fastener (velcro) at the end of the dressing, making application easy and eliminating the need for additional materials to secure the bandage.
    • To uphold sterility, the FFD is double packed and supplied in a sterilized condition. The inner packaging is made of medical-grade paper and polyester laminate, while the outer packaging consists of transparent polyester laminate sheet.
    • The FFD is vacuum-packed in a robust aluminium packaging, offering protection against light, ultraviolet radiation, water vapour, oxygen, and microorganisms, ensuring its integrity during storage and use.
